Exhibtion Statement

The purpose of this exhibition is about how we overcome and get to grips with suffering which can come in many forms in everyone’s life. Sometimes suffering can be present in such a way, that it can stifle and paralyse hearts, spirits, minds and our ability to get on with the daily chores.

The Artists points of view, suffering came into their lives from a multitude of tragic losses, serious illness and deprivation of income. Like buses they all came at once, taking a toll on their previous 'secure' lives, naturally causing a dramatic change. In other words, its almost like a tornado coming into your life and once its done its work, it leaves behind a tail of destruction, everything broken down or taken away not to be replaced again. So what is the next step?

Miraculously we strive to survive and start to look at such situations in a complete and different way. The Artist knee jerk reaction was to call upon God, each other and take time out of the man-made humdrum to rebuild and grow again.

Events started to happen amidst the natural environments, within the shores of England, North Wales or in the glens of Scotland. Absorbing the clean fresh air and listening to the sounds of the sea lashing against the sand and rocks.... watching the distant sky, cloud and rock formations with the movements of waves gave a renewed sense of vibrancy and outlook on the wonders of life. Realising that we as humans need our natural environment to be in tune with ourselves and should we say it God himself? The Artist expressed their findings through their work, and allowing such events to happen brought healing to their lives.
