Claire McCarthy and Elaine Preece Stanley

Introduction

Artists Claire McCarthy and Elaine Preece Stanley worked together for the past year, creating studies, sketches, watercolours and photography to  generate  emotive , expressive paintings...

Within this website, their artwork will demonstrate how  their ideas and work is brought together, bringing out the meaning of  shared, emotive, semi abstract art.

Background

Stanley and McCarthy met through exhibiting together in 2008.  Both artists became friends and met up regularly to talk about their artwork. Coincidently, at that time they both went through personal upheavals.  The emotional traumas suffered were a journey of shared experiences, shouldered through great friendship; creating a new art collection of sea, sky and landscapes.

A great comfort was found through finding solace, comfort and peace within this amazing environment of the ever-changing skies; mountains, land, rivers, seas or oceans.

When it came to doing the new collection of artwork, both artists had a feeling of healing, empowerment, re-awakening inspiration and creativity finding hope within tragedy, which is life affirming.
